Winnie can open most doors! It is the nature of hunting breeds to be clever. She let herself out one day and I was DEVISTATED. She took herself on a walk a mile away! Now she has a GPS tracker, and my door has a toddler lock and a gate.

I would take more seriously the people promoting the idea of AI consciousness if they first materially grappled with the (much more obvious) consciousness of animals and how that affects our moral obligations to them.
