@sarahmoser.bsky.socialHow does BRCA1-related breast cancer begin? With support from the Gray Foundation, NKI teams led by Hendrik Messal and @josjonkers.bsky.social will study the earliest cellular, genetic and immune changes that allow abnormal cells to survive and expand #BRCA1 #BreastCancer #CancerResearch
Show PostVery excited to share our new Nature study! We discovered that replication stress stabilizes CTCF-dependent chromatin loops enclosing stressed nascent DNA, where G9a-mediated heterochromatin protects it from nucleolytic degradation. rdcu.be/frzLg Huge thanks to all our collaborators and co-authors!
Show Post🧬 Our new paper is out in @natsmb.nature.com! ATRX is one of the most mutated genes in cancer, and linked to the rare ATR-X syndrome. We ran genome-scale CRISPR screens to map how it protects the genome, and found it is doing two separate jobs... 🧵 (1/4) nature.com/articles/s41594-026-01827-2
Show PostHere is our article published in Nature Comm, on new players in chromatin dynamics after UV repair. This work highlights the histone chaperones DNAJC9 and MCM2 as central players in chromatin repair. Our proteomic dataset opens up new perspectives for dissecting epigenome maintenance mechanisms.
