For three weeks Todd Labrador of Nova Scotia was at the Canadian Canoe Museum building a birch bark canoe. A big crowd was there to watch the launch. Or as we like to call it "the birth of a canoe".

A bust of author Farley Mowat in the Port Hope, Ontario library. This town was his winter residence for many years while he summered on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. I grew up reading his books that led to my love of natural history, history and evolution.
