bittersweet news: today is my last day at Bluesky. 💙 i’m very thankful to the team for letting me learn many new things on the job (including React Native). i’m wishing them luck in the improbable — but inevitable — task of making decentralized social media usable and competitive.

Me in my 20s: Falls down flight of stairs. Brushes self off and gets on with life as usual. Me in my 40s: Sleeps with head at slightly different angle than usual. Spends 3 weeks taking painkillers for neck pain whilst sobbing and wondering if my life will ever be the same again.

My tree is up. And is a riot of colour which over the past decade has not been for me. I lost my mother 11 years ago and couldn't bring myself to have a colourful tree afterwards. This Christmas is our dear grandson's first Christmas so I've gone all out. It feels right. 🎄
