I agree that there aren't ideologues or fanatics out there, but I do think the whole situation says a lot about the corporate capture and why it continues to happen! If anything, the fact that SaS was so quickly coopted might even say more about the issue, which is susceptibility to trends

One reason I can't stand that truncated Morrison quote about the function of racism is because almost no one who uses it knows the 1000 OTHER things she said about racism through her work etc... The function of racism is ACTUALLY premature death (which is definitely not distraction).

It would be really great if, instead of trying to make an alternative to Wikipedia, the people complaining about the representation issues actually got engaged with Wikipedia communities and what's actually being done on the ground, and uplift that work being done by thousands of women globally.
