For some odd reason, #Konkani & to a lesser extent #Marathi, have a specific word for "a 12 year long period of time" apart from a word for a decade (which presumably all Indic langs have). Konkani: तप tap (n. sg.), तपां tapā̃ (n. pl.) Marathi: तप tap (n. sg.), तपे tape (n. pl.)

I don’t know if I’ll have time to read this any time soon, but a very cool monograph on how the Japanese in the 18th century understood Dutch grammar. www.lotpublications.nl/dutch-gramma...

This is quite an aesthetic and traditional looking #Devanagari font that renders Konkani style glyphs well :)

For example- ⟪हांव उजो लागुनु लासलों⟫ hā̃va uj̈o lāgunu lāsalõ "I caught fire & burned." ⟪हांवें उजो लावनु घर लाशिलें⟫ hā̃vẽ uj̈o lāunu gʰara lāšilẽ "I burnt house by setting fire"

Old #Konkani had a distinction b/w the transitive & intrasitive form of the same verb. ✵ ⟪लासतां⟫ lāsatā̃ "I burn" [no object required] ✵ ⟪लाशितां⟫ lāšitā̃ "I burn (something)" [requires object] The intransitive verb stems had -a- (lāsa-) The transitive verb stems had -i- (lāši-)
