Yes, it worked quite well. If the inside of the bowl is untouched, then it works even easier. My bowl was already pre-turned and partially hollowed-out. Thus, I had to cover the inside of the bowl with some scrap wood. Without this, I noticed too strong heating and cracks on the inside walls.
