It takes privilege for someone to prioritise their health and take action to change their behaviour. Knowing this should be the very basic foundation of health promotion, otherwise it just becomes another source of stigma for people struggling under the various pressures of life.

I may well have high expectations but I wouldn’t view fixing potholes as an achievement in 21st century Britain. What I would consider an achievement is improving our active travel infrastructure so we’re less reliant on cars helping both our health and the climate crisis :)
