I guess I see it less as One Correct Ideology and more as One Ideology That's Incompatible With Humanity. You can hold any ideology you want but if the one you pick is actively detrimental to the rest of the herd, you don't get to be in the herd anymore.

I don't really think you can "hold someone accountable" for having bad ideas, is the thing. you can, perhaps, teach them better ideas, but the idea of accountability necessarily implies that there is One Correct Ideology and that way lies madness

I do actually agree that maybe some of them might see something like the error of their ways when they never see their grandkids again and get turned over to nursing homes, but generally unless folks start getting cool with reeducation camps or something I don't know what accountability looks like.
