@adhockley.bsky.socialOur paper is out in Nature, congrats to Qiyu, An et al! By stimulating ~20 motor cortex neurons carefully selected based on their activity, we could induce learned population activity and, sometimes, the movement itself, depending on the brain's state. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Show PostMy new gig is PI of the CANN group at Trinity College Dublin and University of Oxford (50/50). Funded by the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship, we'll be recruiting postdocs, PhDs and an RA in Dublin and Oxford soon. So exciting! @oxcin.bsky.social @tcddublin.bsky.social @ox.ac.uk @tcdscss.bsky.social
Show PostExcited to share our preprint! We show that primary visual cortex is modulated by global predictability. This effect depended on higher level brain region (area ACa), and better explained classic oddball paradigms better than “local” context effects (i.e., recent stimulus history). 1/3
Show PostToday I joined the @greenparty.org.uk. It's only the 2nd time in my life I've felt like there was a political party that could actually make things better, rather than ones whose greatest aspiration was for things to get worse more slowly. Very excited about the new directions of the Greens. 💚
Show PostThrilled to announce that I’ve been awarded an ERC grant #ERCCoG to work on disentangling memory and prediction. I’m super grateful to my lab members, collaborators, and mentors! If you’re looking for a PhD/postdoc position, stay tuned! @erc.europa.eu @maastrichtu.bsky.social
