Quite possibly. I think there's a certain element of becoming what you set out to lampoon, especially when you go from tiny 2 minute sketches to long form. (Pub Landlord is another, much as I think Al Murray is alright).

Placing the entire output from an author into bags for the charity shop and wondering why I was so obsessed with John Fowles. I have found 3 separate copies of The Magus so far. No desire to reread.
