ORCAS!!! We spent a wet and windy afternoon watching a pod of six Orcas from the shore between Trondra and Burra, Shetland. The pod were very active with lots of spy-hops, belly rolls and tail lobs. Magical! #MarineLife #MarineMammals #UKWildlife

Siblyback Lake: the 20% reservoir level exposed a few rills for this flock of two to forage. The juv Pectoral Sandpiper, on the L, & the Juv Buff-breasted Sandpiper, on the R, may well be long lingering birds from 4 weeks ago. Great to observe and enjoy.

Cute little mushies growing up a dead twig. That is until you realise they are Hymenoscyphus fraxineus, Ash Dieback. The fungus destroying our Ash trees. Particularly abundant on old leaf stalks in a wood today. 😟. #fungi.
