Yeah, they just don't know the cog neuro early fMRI stuff from the 2000s, and are speedrunning it, all over again. Particularly Kanwisher teasing apart what FFA really does.

I think (and again, I might be wrong) I think, historically, the AI safety guys have been coming at this from a behaviorist perspective, instead of a cog neuro one, and this might just be that dawning on some of them.
