I don’t think I’ve ever seen tuners as sloppy as the ones on this current project. I don’t know how she put up with them like that.

I don't really bother replacing stock tuners if they feel like they are doing what they are supposed to, but if they are excessively sensitive (ie. low ratio) and especially if there's some play, it's probably worth, 'cos it just saves so much frustration in the long run.
Show PostI’m a firm believer in replacing the stock tuners. I see sets of tuners for sale asking 5 or 6 dollars that appear to be what came on this Chinese Fender. I’ve tried locking tuners before but they added too much weight IMHO.
