Having experienced both systems, the US system is like a luxury hotel when an inn will do in most cases. And the majority of costs are NOT from insurance at all! It’s from providers- doctors, other healthcare providers, drugs, biomedical equipment.

They are in many cases picturing better healthcare than they personally have now and/or imagining the best care the richest people get and that is indeed a recipe for disappointment.
