So depressing to see all the energy of so-called mainstream parties in France and their many outriders in the media go into condemning the radical left while allowing a far right that is committed to the destruction of Republican values get off scot-free. Redistribution seemingly worse than racism.

I’ve been in the trail of Emilio Sanchez for 15 years. He was an antislavery spy for the British in NYC in the 1850s, when illegal slave traders were launching ships to the African coast. I’ve almost finished ✍️ his biography for Yale Press. Today I finally located his grave in Cambridge, Mass 🙏
