This monumental horse was part of a colossal chariot group which crowned the tomb. The sculptures were even mentioned by the Roman writer Pliny the Elder. The realism of its musculature and the veins it its face are remarkable.

Despite great performances, the 2nd half doesn’t develop sufficiently, take you somewhere new or build on the tension. I didn't mind that it wasn't a thriller - I just wanted a curveball, something unexpected. But it’s very well directed and looks fantastic - strange, beautiful and very particular.

The first half of the film brilliantly develops an unnerving tension and Martelli is excellent at conjuring worlds and pointing you towards narrative possibilities - and making you expect it will become a thriller.
