Moths were scarce in my Quantock mire traps after a night of wind and rain. But it was great to see Neglected Rustic, declining in Somerset, and my second in a month at this site. Quite different colour pattern this time, more pale and pinker, perhaps more "neglecta" the southern subtype. #teammoth

14/07 SE Hants 204/82 moths. The surprise was another 2 Sorhagenia, 4 all told. Annual total is <1 for all 3 species combined! Finally a Kitty Kat. Lesser YU, Arg albistria both NFY. Best of rest Pine Hawk, 2x Light Crimson (uncooperative as always), an interesting Blastobasis for Gen det #teammoth
Show PostMy most wanted Brecks ✅ this p.m. #227 Dartford Warbler. Elusive! 10 seconds total view in 2.5hrs. Local protocol is not to publicise due to historic togger harassment issues. Sorry. I stayed on paths and at a distance, which might be why I saw it and why I didn’t see it well.🫤
