I think it's mainly due to misinformation. Like the mRNA shots, Novavax is a great vaccine; it's not a miracle cure. No meaningful difference in effectiveness. There have been 2 head-to-head observational studies. One showed slight advantage for mRNA, the other showed slight advantage for Novavax.
