Luckily I built my house facing south, I installed my 3kw system myself in 2007. Someone gave me 10kw worth of panels etc but not able to DIY now. 🙁 Regulations changed. About your EV, could you put the charger on a separate circuit that maybe bypasses the house battery?

If I wanted to do this I would have to get the GM energy system which has V2H settings. I just used the free charger that came with my car and connected it to a subpanel, so I can't. I think there's an unmet need for electricians who can design and understand the dynamics of home energy storage.

probably cost our society the willingness of providers to almost unanimously continue showing up to provide patient care. I suppose if another pandemic happens this decade - we will find out. I tried to get KN95s for us -found a distributor capable of bringing in millions cheap - but not "approved"

Not sure about there being gadgets. If I'm not just charging from the wall plug using solar, I have a Wallbox (faster charger) that I can set a schedule for overnight - first having adjusted the battery so it doesn't drain that for the morning.
