Happening now: several hundred people are pouring into Chicago's downtown Federal Plaza. It's 25 degrees outside. Organizers are leading the crowd in a chant of, "no boots on the ground, no bombs in the air!" Two protesters hold a large banner reading, "no war for Venezuela oil."

Regime change in Iraq, Afghanistan, & Libya killed millions of innocent people—all for oil. Trump admits his goal is to take over Venezuela to control their oil. 40 people have already died in Trump’s bombings, and if he isn’t stop that number will skyrocket. This is why I fear for Venezuela. 3/3

In each regime change, U.S. media showed images of locals celebrating as a means to justify the change. Yet each ended in tragedy. Violent regime change does not work. It never has. Why not? Because it is driven by oil and profit—not people and principles. 2/3
