I wish people would just SAY what this bill is: An attempt to ruin the lives of trans people. This "no hate" message is fine, I guess, but AHH GEEZ does it give me flashbacks to the ineffective "no on prop 8" campaign. Voters don't respond to vague concepts like "hate," they respond to people!

This is kind of literally what happened with Talarico and a big reason trans rights supporters are pissed. He won a primary saying one thing and then walked it back after people had cast votes for him.

If you cut yourself, I am "pro" stitches, enthusiastically and unequivocally. Not reluctantly, while noting what a tragedy it is that you needed them in the first place. Because that would place a value judgment on the procedure, *and* put blame on you for needing the stitches in the first place

Lots of people need medical interventions and framing that as "bad" stigmatizes the condition. It is NORMAL to need medical intervention and GOOD to receive them.
