I don't see any reason any data any indications we should take these labs seriously as regarding the harder problems if mind. The emergent sciences have given us great things by crunching the arcane numbers. So be it. But it's not the same. At all.

I see very little attempts to connect AI research to neuroscience, to how the actual mind works. The GPU crunchers are not noticably engaged in the same project whatsoever. Jef Raskin, Humane Interface? Now we are at least trying. But Jef readily admits his better-than-most is 99.99% guesswork.
