Another big thank you to the @foss-backstage.de team for a great conference! In mid-March we met up with builders and users of our favourite ecosystems, plus the advocates behind them. Recordings are now up! 📼 Catch @janl.bsky.narrativ.es presenting on the security track:

One of my takeaways from @foss-backstage.de was @andrewnez.bsky.social saying relative download stats for packages closely resemble stats of open source dependents, so closed source dependency use matches open source dependency use: We can distribute funding fairly w/o analyzing closed source use.

@foss-backstage.de is one of my favorite conferences! As with most conferences in Europe, digital sovereignty was a hot topic, but there were also other great talks. A huge thank you to the organizers and volunteers! Here are a few of my reflections from #fossback fastwonderblog.com/2026/03/18/r...

I’m already enjoying #fossbackstage in Berlin so far! I have a bunch of CHAOSS stickers and a few pairs of CHAOSS earrings, so find me if you want some! 😁 I’ll be around all day today and tomorrow. #fossback
