Again, it’s not a stretch to say that this is exactly the direction this particular administration has been moving in. More 👉private investment,👉 less federal funding. This is very much part of that strategy.

And the big question here is, of course, that if private infrastructure companies can greenwash their polluting activities by donating money, will the federal government take this as a sign it could reduce its own national park funding?

There are some good, practical things here. Private philanthropy is real and can be enormously beneficial, but, especially in this day and age, it deserves a ton of scrutiny and skepticism.
