Not really headline birds, but today’s movement of grey geese over the Triangle at Spurn has been spectacular. Mostly Russian Whitefronts heading south (plus a few grounded on the Straight), but a nice group of 9 Tundra Beans was a real treat. #phonescoped

I doubt I’ll get to see 2 Isabelline Wheatears within a few hundred metres of each other in the UK again, so couldn’t resist the opportunity, taking in a Bluethroat on the way to the Black-faced Bunting on the Spurn peninsula. A truly magic afternoon.

Geese over the graveyard - this didn’t come out as gloomily Gothic as originally intended, the sun came out while I was painting… The Pink-footed geese usually fly along the coast here, but I sometimes see them further inland. They seem to follow the A19 south. 🪶 #art #birdingNorthEast
