Remarkably, 2 great greys in Cramlington (Arcot/West Hartford). I saw the “first” 2 lesser greys at Long Nanny and a third a year or so ago at Amble - late bird (November?) at the marina car park. 2 woodchat, 1 brown, 1 issy type (Cresswell), red backs the “easiest” of the lot these days!
Show PostPortland Day 6 - A ripping day of migration saw birds arriving pre-sunrise and didn't really let up until the mid afternoon. More Woodlarks, constant Chiffchaffs, Blackcaps, Meadow Pipits and Pigeons. Redwings trickling in, with some oddities like Dartford Warbler and some forgettable Geese!
Show PostBy far! Nowhere else in the county has had more than one? Though presumably the captive-bred bird doesn't 'count', being a Category E individual (like that limosa Blackwit a month ago).
Show PostAn excellent mid-morning arrival with well over a thousand Chaffinches, also a Woodlark, 80 Skylark, 82 Redwing, two Mistle Thrush, 220 Starling, 58 Brambling, 43 Siskin, two Mealy Redpoll (briefly in the Moat) and 45 Reed Bunting. Also over 500 Stock Dove attempted to go out to sea. #kentbirding
