Getting off X has been remarkably transformative for my work, my mindset, and my mental health. I would honestly consider it a drag and a liability for most people in all of the above areas. There’s very little benefit and huge risk to posting there, even if you have to keep following it for work.
Show PostEven though X is much smaller than other social media platforms, the fact that it’s the world’s richest man’s platform and is still used by many other powerful figures and groups makes it highly influential. And it’s a toxic waste dump. You can see how that spirals out.
Show PostI left X almost exactly two years ago because of the violent, celebrated rape culture that was dominating the platform. Two years later, I’m undeniably better off, and the culture around sexual violence at large is arguably worse. I believe X has played a serious role in that.
Show Postvery odd to me that a lot of these guys think that because they got some numbers right they have therefore unlocked the door to understanding all political outcomes
Show Postyep, a very good illustration of the analytical risk of this kind of arrogance
