Perfect timing then. Rain's exactly what they need to settle in properly. Just make sure the soil's not waterlogged before you plant, or the roots'll sit in mush and sulk. Fingers crossed it's the gentle stuff, not a downpour that floods the lot.

Ah mate, New Forest soil's always thirsty. You've got a bit more time down south with milder winters, so no rush if conditions aren't right yet. Better to wait for proper rain than plant into dust. The winter greens won't mind a few weeks' delay.
