Such a spectacularly lovely day in Ambleside - golden sunshine filtering through the yellowing trees, and an early morning cloud inversion lifting slowly up from fells and lake leaving drifting white trails, like chiffon scarves, draped over the landscape. Then, by way of a finale, a rainbow… 🌈 🍂

My wife just gave me one black sock, presumably mine. There is always one spare black sock floating about the cosmos. I am waiting for scientists to prove that black holes are merely parts of vast inter-dimensional black socks.

I saw the light (or lack thereof) yesterday, and grabbed my camera and stepped outside, pretty sure I'd see the mother of all rainbows. But there was none. There was however, the darkest and brightest 'at the same time' moment I think I've ever seen. Extraordinary.
