Townscaper was another favourite in this genre. It was the first game I saw that cleverly generated variety through unique combinations of basic elements. You can still play the Townscaper demo online. I think it has most of the same features, just a smaller world canvas. townscaper.org

My first Tiny Glade diorama. I love these kinds of builder games and I was sad that this one didn't have a Mac version, but apparently they added one in a recent update so now I get to play!

I have been trying to think of what Trump’s hideous “ballroom” project reminds me of — and I finally have it — it is Nicolai Ceausescu’s infamous and unfinished House of the People in communist Romania, which also brought awfulness to a lovely downtown.
