estrogen kind of is the unofficial gate. i don't actually think i've ever met a trans person in my life who went through a Testosterone-1 Puberty and didn't desire some limited estrogenization effect, even if this meant moving towards androgyny (e.g. combined with tamoxifen to keep a flat chest)
