...management now expects higher value work out of every employee. Which means more time spent on hard work and less simple work where your brain (and body) could rest and recover. AI's no different - and perhaps worse. It's one of the main reasons why I decided to retire...
Show PostThere is one more time for density - AI takes out the easy tasks (so, only one should be involved only with harder tasks). This is the effect, which is similar what one observes when using active learning (in machine learning) - the easy cases are quickly exhausted, and one should deal with cases
Show PostAlso: I don't think quantity matters much when it's creative or intellectual output. One really excellent novel is *much* better than two pretty good ones. A smallish software system that's well thought out and implemented with care is *much* better than a mediocre one with more features.
Show PostIf you've fully optimized quality and users can't keep up with changes, you’ve reached absolute market saturation. At that point, engineering capacity is simply misallocated, you need to redirect effort from new feature output toward cost reduction, or exploring new markets.
Show PostThe amount of times that I can exchange "AI" with "magic" on what people say when discussing what the business wants and why we should get there very quickly because, hey, they know better.
