@louiserobinson.bsky.socialRight! I have autism as well and understand it as a spectrum but it was finally refreshing to see an everyday portrayal that was not Sheldon cooper or the dude from the good doctor and then mr journalist here calls it bland?! How dismissive!
Show PostDefinitely disappointing but ultimately no one can erase the impact and the love that Hudson put into the character, it’s forever immortalised and that’s all that matters not half assed opinions from biased “journalists”.
Show PostJournalist used to be impartial, calling a poc actor bland and excluding him from the Emmy conversation to uplift his white counterparts is frankly despicable yet expected. People are allowed to have favourites but watch your tone around that talented young man who did a great nuanced job.
Show PostI always felt like there's a socially acceptable part of the spectrum and only that part is being represented in hollywood because it can be used a comedic relieve for viewers. But the other parts of the spectrum? They are too awkward or bland to be shown. Disappointing but nothing new.
Show PostHow come a white man with mid acting is emmy worthy but a poc who greatly captured autism isn't? I have autism myself and for once I felt well represented just to have it labeled as bland makes me wonder if you put any effort in understanding the characters
