I think at the front end of a rebuild , Dach is a perfect example of a guy you roll the dice on. A bad trade is one that’s ill advised. It hasn’t worked out. That’s a rebuild, you acquire volume.

I agree, the beginning of a rebuild when they were still in tear down mode was when you can take a shot like that. The failure is on the player not the GM. Newhook worked out, Dach didn’t.

Agreed. Had it not been for injury, I think we'd be having a different conversation... And not be needing a 2C. But that's life. Hughes needs to know fans get it, and that moving Dach for a lot less than he paid is ok. Can't bat 1.000 in that job.

Is he playing the right side? I've seen him playing right on the PP, but haven't seen a Rocket game this year to notice what side he plays 5v5. Although with Engstrom and Rhino in the NHL and Pickford still out, he may be seeing duty on the right. He's still a left D though.
