I don't think you have to choose between PBMs and community pharmacies here. We can request for a better pharmacy access and still recognize that benefit managers have an important job.

Losing a pharmacy hurts a lot more when there's nothing nearby to replace it. Getting some of these really high drug prices down could help take pressure off smaller pharmacies.

I don’t think the answer is to make PBMs the villain every time there’s a drug pricing fight. They’re part of the system that manages the benefit. The one that we need to focus on is how we get the underlying cost of expensive drugs down.

Hands down to PDAB. Keeping prior authorizations from getting lost during a plan change seems like a pretty practical way to protect continuity of care.
