Our first almond harvest! Our tree is about 5yrs, a hardy variety (zone 6b). Probably 25% of the nuts were underdeveloped, but overall not bad. When the world ends, we've got this subsistence farming thing down.

I took this picture in 2017 because I thought the sculpture looked like Volvox. I must have been in town for an NSF panel. Little did I know at the time that I'd be working in the building to the right nine years later. Now I eat my lunch just about where I was standing to take the picture.

So grateful for all my volunteer leadership who helped make this meeting such a success. I didn’t think it was possible for the meeting to run perfectly, but I still aimed for that and I think we got it to pretty near perfect!

So frustrated. We can no longer forward emails out of the university system to other platforms. So now I've got to figure out how to use Outlook. Yet *another* bureaucratic burden passed onto faculty who are already just keeping afloat.
