My student Aadi Mishra and I have a new paper out looking at the mental health effects of mass shootings in the United States. Using the Household Pulse Survey and a database of public mass shootings from Northwestern University, we show widespread increases in anxiety & depression.

Excited to see this out! We find spiritual states - like spiritual awareness and states during prayer are tied to less depressive symptoms than rel. traits across models onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/... New article in press @ Social Science & Medicine. In HRS, we find that White (but not Black) older adults have lower epigenetic age acceleration scores if they also live in predominantly White areas. These patterns are largely unrelated to any other residential features. tinyurl.com/msevnhwh
