I don't like how some Arsenal fans are justifying this. Of course this is how corporate business works. That doesn't mean you need to justify it on the billionaire owners' behalf. Caught the train up from Birmingham to the Red Lion in Erdington, mainly to see the magnificent ceramic bar counter. It was made for the pub by Craven Dunnill in 1899 and it's one of only 14 left in the UK. I think I have a photo of most of them now so maybe it's time to get them together in a post!

The excellent Woodman butts right up to the HS2 works in the centre of Birmingham but still won a Camra/Historic England award for its recent reburb. Great bar counter, bar back and lots of Minton tiling. 9 cask ales including Bass.
