Indeed. Puglia has a developed road network and infrastructure, dual and triple carriage highways connecting cities. In the heart of countryside there can be poor roads. To say “The roads were just too poor for long distances and…dangerous” is an inaccurate generalisation, and could be corrected.
Show PostCiao GWT - Puglia, at 400km long, is over a third of the length of Italy. Many travellers are tripped up by this. Also, the take on driving is surprising for us, as Puglia is one of Italy’s better drives! Perhaps an insider travel guide to Puglia for balance would be helpful? Happy to help!
