this is another example of what I'm talking about! memory issues, even when they're relatively minor in the GRAND scheme of things, can be so debilitating in ways most people cannot empathize with. it's like a constant low-key confusion/fuzziness that is exacerbated by new places and situations

the whole "kids cutting off parents" "epidemic" is such a reveal of a skill issue, that issue being parents unable to not be pieces of shit I've cut off family members for being awful. You know who I didn't cut off? My mom, because she's cool and not awful. It's easy, if you're not awful.
