Incidentally the other day I heard of someone cancelling a Sunday service because only three people came and I cannot fathom why you would do that. Cut the hymns if people don’t feel they can sing in those numbers, sure, but you can still pray and read the Scriptures!

Great point and this is how Scandinavian countries, avatars of social democracy, work. Everyone gets benefits - this ties in wealthier people to supporting the welfare state.
