Yeah - we do, because sanctions don't work well, as other nations have agency. Our stuff to Ukraine isn't meaningless. This is why the slogan stuff is popcorn for the converted in a messy, complex world. We want simple, we want it now and will get it good and hard! Good luck.
Show PostIt was a genuine question. The greater moral purpose is to remove the capacity for industrial death and something all functioning adults agree with. Now what happens when someone goes "no" (like Russia) and deploys it against Ukraine? And when sanctions have minimal effect? This is where we are.
Show PostWe've got non-violent measures. Sanctions up the wazoo. And now what? Let Ukrainians die because it makes us feel unburdened from the greater moral purpose? A purpose Russia doesn't share as they commit war crimes.
Show PostIf you don't support the existence of industries that only exist because of war or the threat of war, what do you expect the Ukrainians to do - defend themselves with sticks?
Show PostIf Ukrainians have no choice but to defend themselves, how is supporting them pro war? All wars are anti-war factories. All wars are wars of choice that one side didn't get to make.
