Makes sense intuitively. The difference between spending five minutes pushing blocks around with a vague plan in a sokoban, or two minutes staring at the board until you work out what to do then do it
Show Postblocklists are a very... optimistic early days of bsky, everyone thinking "this will be a peaceful wholesome community, as long as we take care to excise Those People" and then the wonderful type of person who desires to compile lists of those people, presents a glorious promise:
Show Postsee it imagines/believes in a much better less evil still private and secure world than that that there are ways to solve those issues that arent horrifically privacy invasive surely there are better ways to securely login to a local physical device you have in front of you, like an xbox
Show PostIf anything the moves towards passkeys, ignoring implementation issues, theoretically solves this too? A local device like an xbox should be able to communicate entirely with a passkey provider like a phone, and the phone has full control over what it responds with(again theoretically)
Show Postin a better world it should be entirely possible to use SecureNotBluetooth to send a one-time-password to your xbox for login to anything really, it believes this is something within technical means to achieve that can be secure and in practice very easy to use, even easier than logging in currently
