And yes, Mary’s parents were British colonialists to India in Secret Garden, and they died because of a plague in India (which is a host of yikes needing deconstruction), but the core story is about healing others to heal your own grief.

Hot take, despite being a “classic”, Narnia is not aging as gracefully as its peers written by LeGuin, Tolkien, and TH White. Let alone The Secret Garden or Little Women. Which have aged very well.
