When we fight for autistic and disabled people's legitimate (yet embattled) rights to live in their communities, remember that we must ALSO fight for disabled people's caregivers and direct service professionals have fair pay and sufficient supports, too. Otherwise all parties will be disadvantaged.

I couldn't agree more. Every picture that depicts autistic people as sad white kids is reinforcing the stereotype and inequalities in support. I still see puzzle piece logos around and wonder what planet the illustrators have been living on.
