An underrated part of the interaction is right at the beginning when El-Sayed asks Tommy how he is doing, Tommy says “great,” and the tone with which El-Sayed replies “are you?” He’s not calling Tommy weird but he’s communicating that these trolls are not doing great or even ok.

In their design of the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom (1786), Jefferson and Madison declined to make Christian belief a requirement to hold office, and explicitly said that if a Muslim could get elected, there should be no barrier to their holding office.
