and refactoring is a disaster, i can never get it to do what i want. i think refactoring has too many hard decisions

it's much worse at brownfield stuff. if i want to make a change it just ends up not as clean, claude always writes these comments that refer to previous states of the codebase that just aren't helpful

agentic coding notes for greenfield stuff, if i know exactly what i want, i can write a screen-sized markdown document with the goal and some implementation details and usually get a pretty good result. even claude's docs are clean and to-the-point
