I went and checked the Lindisfarne Gospels and it, too, has an operable download icon in the viewer, tho it only allows downloading low/med-res images. So for that, and I guess older digitizations or more valualble properties you still have to resport to the old hack. Nevertheless, a breakthrough.

I drafted this in 2024. There are other drafts hanging out in my blog queue, including the talk I gave back in April (2026!) at the University of Glasgow, on the Frankenbook as an artist's book. That will be next! Eventually I will be caught up, I like having a record of what I have been up to.
