If you want a more comprehensive book, I can thoroughly recommend @cercerilla.bsky.social's Effective Haskell I don't remember what it's like for the very basics, but it's definitely a great way to go from understanding syntax to writing non-trivial, well-organized programs
Show PostI also admit that I'm starting to see "pro-AI" as a red flag. I think if you're strongly advocating that "everyone" should be finding ways to use this tech, then you're not being responsible. The implications are too big, and we haven't seen enough study.
Show PostThe only issue for me today is that not everyone who says "it's useful in these areas that I know about" is being "pro-AI". Some of us are actually trying to find the conversations where we discuss what to do in this new world.
Show PostEven with crypto, I came to my stance after making sure I actually understood the tech and what people were doing with it. I consider that to be my obligation as a technologist. To actually know what I'm talking about before having a strong opinion on a topic in my area.
